White just a week before her death, she suffered a stroke. The day after the ceremony in which she received an award from the Screen Actors Guild,
White felt pain in his left arm and was taken to a hospital where it was found that one of his arteries had been blocked off.
“The doctors said if I hadn’t come in when I did, I would have had a stroke!”
White was released from the hospital and seemingly recovered, but after filming the next day on set she collapsed. The actress was rushed back to the hospital for surgery.
“That’s when we found out that she had another blockage,” says his manager, Janice Goldberg. “They operated, but she had some complications.”
One day after surgery, on Sunday, February 15th, White was moved from the intensive care unit to a private room. The following night he fell out of bed and fractured his shoulder. He returned to the ICU for further monitoring.

“The truth is that Betty has not recovered,” said Goldberg on Wednesday. “She has a lot of pain.”
Finally, on Friday February 20th, Goldberg announced the death of White: she died peacefully in her sleep with his family and friends at his side.
“All my life I wanted to be an actress, and so I became one,” White once said. “It was the journey of a dream come true. I’ve had to pinch myself many times along the way.”
“I have never, ever been out of work as an actor,” he continued. “That’s why I can’t complain about anything.”
“When you’re riding high, all the cakes are on the table. You just take them when they come. I’ve had a great time. But if tomorrow morning the roof falls in, I will have no regrets.”
“I did the best I could with what was given to me,” he concluded. “If you can say that at 90, then you are rich.”
“I hope it will be the same for all of you. Be happy, enjoy life, and make your dreams come true.”
