After Lori Loughlin and her husband Mossimo Giannulli were charged with engaging in a conspiracy to commit mail fraud, federal officials say multiple people have come forward saying they paid the couple to get their children into two universities. One unnamed source said: ‘It’s true many people came forward but there’s no indication they told on each other.’
Meanwhile another source added: ‘The probe is still ongoing and we don’t know how many people will be charged.’ Lori and Mossimo were accused of paying $500,000 to have their two daughters labelled as recruits for the USC crew team. They then allegedly laundered the money through the non-profit charity called The Key Worldwide Foundation. This is not the first time that Lori has been targeted by criminals, as she was previously mugged back in 2017 while running errands with her son.
‘My son and I were jumped coming out of a little market on San Vicente,’ she told Access Hollywood at the time.‘We were just attacked by three kids. I was so scared.’The star added: ‘I’m such an easy target because if anyone knows anything about me, we’re either in a Starbucks or we’re in the ocean.’ This has to be one of her worst years ever after being accused of taking part in a college admissions scandal and then targeted by thieves again.
