There were a total of 10 seasons in the series and “Game Over” was the final episode of the series which was written by Ryan and Brad themselves and features several twists. It actually made some kind of sense up until the end. But once it gets there, it started to fall apart.
The episode started with a young couple who were going to spend the night in the Murder House as some kind of tourist deal. But of course, it didn’t go as per their plan, the couple got murdered, and we learned that this was actually just the scenario of a video game that a game developer mother made to try to impress her son, but that didn’t work for her because she apparently forgot something. She then makes an appointment with the realtor to buy the Murder House.
Her son thought he could free all the souls in the Murder House by burning it down and it worked except Ruby stayed behind the condos. The son also wondered if he burned all the souls. Then in another scene, the front door shuts and an apple rolled on the floor – meaning, there are some of the souls around.

There were several problems, like why’s the mother still alive? Everything the audience saw was in a video game, then it would mean the Murder House never burnt and there will not be a Murder House ghost in their house now. If it did actually happen then the story afterward was turned into a video game, and the mother should still be dead.
