Namida thinks why the guy was terrified after seeing Tsubaki. Tsubaki realizes that they have discussed a swordsmanship tournament in the past and believed that Sazanka would inherit Kurosawa when Lord Mifune retires. She further says to Sazanka that she had acknowledged him and he was more worthy of the Kurosawa. Tsubaki, Namida, and Wasabi all head to the food store and find about another incident. Tsubaki then tells them about Sazanka, who was popular as the genius of the sword.
Wasabi is happy that Tsubaki told them and thinks if she will be okay. She then wonders if Tsubaki is capable to fight the fellow disciple, Tsubaki further practices her sword skill in the evenings, knowing they might face Sazanka soon. The next day they go out on a mission whereby they made fool of the bandits after Wasabi used herself as bait to attract them. However, Namida beat those guys with a single blast. Sazanka comes to save her men, and Tsubaki accepts the challenge. He cut Tsubaki and also scolded her that she was Samurai that could not wield a sword.

But Tsubaki still feels that it is not enough since she is not able to surpass him. Wasabi saves Tsubaki, who admits that she can’t cut Sazanka. Tsubaki further tells how Sazanka used to dominate her during sword combat. But she is aware of the move that can defeat Sazanki. Lastly, after training, Tsubaki goes on to win the swordsmanship tournament and inherited Kurosawa. Tsubaki however knows that Sazanka changed completely after losing that match, and Wasabi advises to catch Sazabka.
