Who Is Dan Hardy?

• Dan Hardy (born 17 May 1982) is an English former mixed martial artist who fought in the welterweight division.
• He began his training in taekwondo at the age of 5 in Nottingham and started fighting at the age of 7.
• As a teenager, he started learning Karate, jiu-jitsu, etc. His current fighting styles include Taekwondo, Wushu, Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Submission Wrestling, Boxing.
• After deciding to finish college at 19, he also got into boxing, Muay Thai.

• He began his career in 2004 with his MMA fights and fought for various promotions like cage force and cage warriors before he signed a contract with UFC in 2008.
• Hardy was then scheduled to face Georges St-Pierre for the welterweight title on 27 March 2010 at UFC 111 in Newark, New Jersey.
• He fought Georges St-Pierre for the UFC Welterweight Championship but lost the bout via decision.
• Dan Hardy’s career as a mixed martial artist was cut short after discovering a serious heart condition called Wolff-Parkinson-White Syndrome in 2012 when he was 30 years old.
• His last bout in the UFC was a victory via unanimous decision against Amir Sadollah.
