Ibrahimovic intends to continue, according to Maldini

Zlatan Ibrahimovic, out of contract and unable to play before early 2023 after surgery on his left knee this week, intends to continue his career, AC Milan manager Paulo Maldini estimated on Friday.

“From what I have understood, his intention is to continue,” said the ‘rossonero’ sports director, in an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, two days after the operation of the 40-year-old Swedish attacker.

“We have met in fifteen days. I don’t see any problem in finding an agreement. Surely he is not comfortable playing so little. We will see what happens in the next two weeks,” added Maldini.

Ibrahimovic, who returned to the club in January 2020, underwent surgery on Tuesday to rebuild his anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee, and will see him out for seven to eight months.
