Paris SG formalizes the arrival of Luis Campos as football advisor

Paris Saint-Germain made official this Friday the arrival of the Portuguese Luis Campos as football adviser and responsible at the club “for the organization, transfers and performance of the professional team”, replacing the Brazilian Leonardo, who until May was the sports director of the entity.

“I am very happy to join Paris Saint-Germain, who I consider to be the most ambitious and exciting club in the world of football. We share the same vision, a vision that I firmly believe in, and I am looking forward to working to develop the exceptional potential of the club,” said Campos (57 years old), quoted in a PSG statement.

His arrival, after a season marked by a new disappointment in the Champions League, with an elimination in the round of 16 against Real Madrid, should “help the team to go to the next level,” estimates the club in its statement.

The arrival of Campos at PSG had already been announced a week ago by the press.

Luis Campos, considered an architect of the unexpected titles in France for Monaco in 2017 and Lille in 2021, is also a figure close to Kylian Mbappé, a PSG star and whom he has known since his years with the Monegasque team.

Leonardo was dismissed from his duties last month, a few hours after Mbappé’s renewal until 2025 was made official.
