Record of Ragnarok is a Japanese manga series about mankind’s final struggle against Gods. The Gods’ Council meets once every 1000 years to decide humanity’s fate. The gods have decided that humanity is irredeemable and must be extinct after 7 million years of human history. However, at the last possible moment, the Valkyries’ eldest, accompanied by the youngest, intervened and proposed that humans have a say in their fate by pitting them against the gods in a series of one-on-one battles to determine whether they are worthy of continuing to exist. The gods accept this suggestion out of fear of losing their pride. Thirteen gods will face thirteen human champions in a battle of gods and humans. The fate of humanity will be decided by the first team to win seven games.

In the previous chapter, Buddha celebrates his victory after we see the end of his fight with Hajun and his Volund Nirvana sword melting away. We also see Beelzebub destroying all of his records about Hajun as Odin walks in with his two crows which start squawking and insulting Beelzebub who continues burning the records. We see Odin’s evil smile as he says that he has waited a long time in preparation for this battle and he would permit no one to disrupt it. In the final part of the chapter, Hermes takes a look at the scoreboard and it’s a tie. Zeus is annoyed because humanity could take the lead. Hades goes in as the next fighter, taking off his eye patch, and says that he would avenge his brother Poseidon.

Hades will face Qin Shi Huang next month.
