Unfaithful appeared in American theaters nearly 20 years ago and has not been still forgotten by most of its audience. The main genre of this film is erotic and suspenseful. Adrian Lyne is the one who staged and produced this project from scratch. From the French film “The Unfaithful Wife” the main inspiration for the plot of this movie comes from. In 1969, The Unfaithful Wife was broadcasted all over the world. The film has had many adaptations in the countries. It was also filmed in India under the title Murder in 2004 with actors Emraan Hashmi and Malika Sherawat.

The film opens with Edward and Connie Summer living in their cute suburban home in Westchester County, New York. The couple has a son named Charlie. The two have been happily married for some time, but their relationship lacks passion and spark. One day we saw Connie decide to go shopping. She fell in love with a man named Paul Martel. Connie scratches her knee and Paul offers to help her heal, which she gladly accepts. This man invited her to his apartment in Soho. However, Connie felt a little uncomfortable with the way Paul approached her and therefore left abruptly. Later in the scene, we see Connie finding Paul’s phone number in the book she gave him and calling her that way. He is happy to invite her back to his apartment. Apparently, Paul starts flirting with her again, and Connie leaves, but soon returns to the apartment due to the apparent attraction between them.

After Edward hits Paul with a snowball, Edward clears all the evidence and leaves the apartment. Also, in a landfill, he dumps Paul’s body and even deletes Connie’s statements from Paul’s intercom. A few days later, the police visit Connie and Edward’s house to investigate reports of Paul’s disappearance from his wife. Connie lies to the police and Edward supports them too, so Connie finds out that Edward knows about their affair. Edward halts at a traffic light one day and Connie inquires him if they should flee away from the country. But apparently, Edward stopped his car in front of the police station to confess his crime.
