We saw in the previous episode how a jealous mountain named Homura fell in love with Tamano and wanted to put him in a room so that no one could gaze at her. However, she could not bear the mountain Homura’s treatment and fled in terror, aided by her companion Riku. Riku asks the girls to slay the mountain after witnessing Homura’s behavior. When they attack him on his mountain, Homura becomes enraged and strikes Moroha and Towa. That’s when he understands Towa and Setsuna were once half-demon princesses who were separated when Homura burned down the forest. When Homura notices Tamano getting close to Riku, he becomes enraged and burns himself alive.
