Star Jones Will Replace Faith Jenkins As ‘Divorce Court’ Judge

Former lawyer, television personality and columnist Star Jones will serve as host on the new Divorce Court series launching on Sunday, April 20. She has also been tapped as a first-season judge who will preside over cases of divorcing celebrities airing on Wednesday nights at 9/8c beginning May 6.

Star Jones, one of twelve children born to immigrant parents, is a graduate of Irvington High School and American University. After college, she worked as an assistant prosecutor in her hometown of Newark, New Jersey.

Star Jones Will Replace Faith Jenkins As ‘Divorce Court’ Judge

Star Jones made the move to Washington D.C., where she successfully lobbied for the right to write wills and conduct real estate closings during law school at Georgetown University. While practicing law, she became a highly sought-after public speaker and civil rights advocate. She served as a television correspondent for CBS News in Washington, D.C., before landing a job with Court TV in New York City. While at the network Star Jones played an integral role in covering many of the major legal stories of our time including presidential debates, criminal trials, and the September 11th attacks.

Star Jones became a household name when she was cast as co-host of “The View” in 1999. She held the position for six years before leaving in 2005 to concentrate on her syndicated daily television series, “The Star Jones Show.”
