Rapper Meek Mill who is currently locked up, has made good on his promise to donate $5 million to the city’s school system.

On Tuesday night, he was joined by Philadelphia Eagles’ player Michael Vick, Kevin Hart and 76ers co-owner Michael Rubin at a news conference to announce the donation.

Meek said, “I’m not the hero. The heroes are the principals, the teachers, the parents of these students.”

Mill’s lawyer, Joe Tacopina told NBC News that Meek “is eager to get back to working on criminal justice reform full time.”

The money will be put towards creating jobs in the city for 1,200 schoolchildren. It will also help fund a skate park, a food bank and a football team.

Since being incarcerated in November, high profile supporters have been helping Mill raise awareness about the prison system.

Last week, Kevin Hart posted a video on instagram of him going to Mill’s hearing. “Thank you for having me here today,” Hart said in the video. “I’m here for my bro, Robert Rihmeek Williams. I stand here in front of this court proud not just for me but proud for everybody that’s behind me – knowing that we’re gonna get him home real soon.”

The comedian also posted a photo of himself with Mill and Rubin on his Instagram page Monday night with the caption, “I got the right ones by my side!! #KevHart #MeekMill”.

“Every day I wake up with this dude in my head,” Mill said on Tuesday. “He’s not just a mentor to me, but he’s like a father to me.
