After Google dedicated an Easter egg in her honour late comedian Betty White, who was beloved for her roles on ‘The Golden Girls,’ has died at the age of 92. She died just weeks before her 100th birthday. Google drenched its search page with rose petals, a reference to Rose, her iconic character from The Golden Girls.

A user must Google search her name in order to view the tribute, which comprises of an animated Easter egg with rose petals falling down over the Search results page, accompanied by a message that says “Thank you for being a friend,”—the song’s title.

The late actor’s death certificate, according to Variety, revealed that she had a stroke six days before she died on December 31 at the age of 99.

After the stroke, she was alert and coherent, according to sources from the news organization. However, she passed away in her sleep at home quietly.

White had a long and illustrious career in television and film that lasted more than 60 years. She has more than 120 acting credits to her name, in addition to her role on The Golden Girls from 1985-92.

From 2010 to 2015, she was on Hot in Cleveland as Elka Ostrovsky and had a role on The Mary Tyler Moore Show in the ’70s as Sue-Ann Nivens. She has hosted Saturday Night Live three times: once at the age of 88, when she guest hosted; and twice more at the age of 90

White, an animal lover since birth, was born in Oak Park, Illinois, before moving to Los Angeles with her family. White won five Primetime Emmy Awards during her acting career.

On her 100th birth anniversary, January 17, 2022, a movie was scheduled to be released on Betty White’s life. Despite the fact that she is no longer with us, the producers have confirmed that they will proceed with the plan and release the film as a tribute to the late actor. The motion picture is titled Betty White: 100 Years Young. The cast includes Robert Redford, Tina Fey, Clint Eastwood, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Morgan Freeman, Jimmy Kimmel and more.
