The Grammy-winning artist is demanding final cut over the film just days before the Kanye West Netflix documentary “jeen-yuhs” is set to premiere at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival.
West shot off a furious response on Instagram about, as he claims, being barred from the editing booth. “I’m going to say this respectfully for the final time,” the post begins. “Before it’s released on Netflix, I need to get complete edit and approval on this document.

“I’d like to have control of my own photograph, so open the edit room right away. Thank you in advance.”
The three-part event film is set to premiere on Netflix on Feb. 16, with the following two installments coming out over the next two weeks. The first part will debut at the Sundance Film Festival in January. Netflix did not respond to TheWrap’s request for comment.
Coodie Simmons and Chike Ozah’s “jeen-yuhs” documentary is produced by Time Studios and Creative Control and features the West.

West, who was questioned as a culprit in a battery investigation last week in Los Angeles following an altercation on Jan. 13, has also been named as a headliner for the Coachella music festival, which takes place next month.
