• While Ciel is a conflicted anti-hero who’s out for vengeance while Alois is a spoiled, obnoxious boy who enjoys cruelly bullying Hannah, his maid. Even with his methods, the audience perceived his behavior as a result of pain and trauma.
• While Ciel leaves innocent people alone, Alois is cruel for no other reason to deem himself as cruel.
• Black butler 2 introduced a new butler and master, a year and 3 months after the dramatic conclusion of the original series. Alois Trancy, a sadistic yet cheerful character. As a child, he was kidnapped and forced to work in a village.
• Gradually, he lost everyone he cared about and eventually returned home, taking control of the mansion. He started behaving strangely when he came back with Claude Faustus, an enigmatic, emotionless butler of incomprehensible talent.
• The anime ends with Sebastian and the demons fighting each other, and Ciel close to death; as the only way of saving him was to turn him into a demon, Sebastian does that.
• In the end, the reason Ciel’s soul was stolen was that Sebastian was accused of causing a chain of events that resulted in the destruction of Alois’ village and the death of his younger brother.
• But later it was revealed by changing the narrative that Sebastian didn’t have anything to do with it, instead, Hannah was behind it all.
• Now, the question is why Sebastian and Ciel were reintroduced other than to confirm viewership.
• While the first season-ending was solid and provided a satisfying conclusion.
• The second season left the viewers confused and disappointed as the ending didn’t have much of a substance to it.
