Dani Alves is FINALLY set to make his second Barcelona debut in their Copa del Rey clash against Linares Deportivo as the 38-year-old defender’s register with the Catalan side becomes official on Friday.

The Brazilian joined Barca from Juventus on a free transfer last week and has been training at the club’s La Masia training ground this week. Alves was unveiled at Camp Nou on Thursday night and the former Brazil international is expected to play a role for Ernesto Valverde’s side during Saturday’s clash at Estadio Manuel Martinez Valero.

After scoring the goal which handed Brazil triumph in the 2010 World Cup, Alves insisted he had no regrets over his decision to leave Barcelona in 2015, despite seeing his career stall after leaving the Blaugrana.

“I don’t regret anything,” Alves said during an interview with BeIN Sports. “After my last season with Barca, I felt that it was time for me to experiment with something else.” He added: “For me to be part of Juventus and the history of such a great club makes me very proud.

“Pep Guardiola was the one who brought me to Barcelona and we spent many years together.”

Alves spent eight years at Barcelona, winning La Liga and the Champions League twice apiece as well as claiming seven other major honors during that period, but was released by the club in the summer of 2015.

The Brazilian returned to Barca earlier this month having spent three years at Juventus, winning Serie A once and Coppa Italia twice, as well as reaching two Champions League finals with Juve.

Alves made 231 appearances for Barcelona during his first spell at Camp Nou between 2008 and 2015, scoring 11 goals.

He has won 32 trophies in his career to date. [ARTICLE END] Full name: Daniel Alves da Silva Junior nationality: Brazilian age: 38 years and 10 months height: 1,76 meters weight: 74 kilograms Instagram: @danialvesd2 Facebook: Dani Alves Twitter: @DaniAlvesD2

Brazilian defender Dani Alves will wear No. 33 in his second spell at Barcelona, the club’s official website has revealed. Alves left Barca in 2015 after winning eight Liga titles and two Champions Leagues with the club but returned earlier this month on a free transfer from Juventus following Aleix Vidal’s ankle injury. The former Sevilla man will be presented at Camp Nou on Thursday evening before making his second debut for the club in their Copa del Rey match against Linares Deportivo on Saturday following Luis Enrique’s decision to rest several key players during the Christmas period. Alves is set to be Barcelona’s third-choice right-back behind.
