RuPaul’s Drag Race in the UK was officially announced on December 4, 2018, on The Sun. The season began airing on Thursday, October 3, 2019, on the BBC Three iplayer. It was directed by Tony Grech-Smith and it is a reality show. The country origin of the show is the united kingdom. The theme song is “Rock It (To the Moon)”.

On February 14, 2019, it was revealed that Alan Carr and Graham Norton will join the show as rotating judges just the same as Carson Kersley and Ross Mathew are in the American format.

On July 16, 2019, it was revealed on social media that the cast of this season would be announced at RuPaul’s DragCon NYC 2019 with all 10 queens appearing at the convention stage. It was also confirmed on Instagram that the season will be available on the streaming platform WOW Presents Plus for viewers outside the UK so that they can also watch.

The winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK Season 1 will be “whisked off to the Hollywood to star in her very own digital series, produced by the hit-making team that created RuPaul’s Drag Race, World of Wonder.”

RuPaul’s Drag Race UK airs at the BBC which is a public broadcasting company-funded money by taxes. Because of the funded shows, competitive television shows which air on the BBC may not use commercial sponsorships, nor are they allowed to give cash prizes. According to the “Framework for Funding Prizes and Awards” of the BBC, prizes should be original and something money cannot buy it should be something related to emotions, hence the Ru Peter Badge that contestants earn when they win a challenge.

The finale tasked of this season 2 is remaining contestants Bimini Bon Boulash, Lawrence Chaney, Tayce, and Ellie Diamond with the franchise’s signature complex choreography, which they had to perform on top of crafting personal verses set to RuPaul’s new song “A Little Bit of Love.”

While they all have received mostly positive critiques on the runway journey of this season 2’s resident to the lip-sync assassin Tayce received amazing notices for her work and performance on the main stage. Panelist Alan Carr compared her performance in the way that “Nicole Scherzinger wants to take the attention away from the other Pussycat Dolls” before Tayce — a quarantine food connoisseur who famously put noodles on white bread and called it as a delicacy was also stressed that she is the only goal is to win the crown to put “beans and toast with butter and ketchup on the map” between performing her “t-ts off” around the world.

In fitting fashion, RuPaul also had photos of the queens’ younger selves at the ready and asked each one contestant to speak words of wisdom to their youth. When the queens left the stage, they were greeted by season 2’s previously eliminated queens, including Veronica Green, who reunited with the contestants in the Werk Room after her disqualification due to a positive COVID test. “If there is one thing I’d say now that I’m back it’s wearing a mask, stay safe, stop the spread, and save lives!” she said.

Ginny Lemon, who raised  eyebrows by quitting the competition and walking off the set in the middle of a lip-sync against Sister, also returned to explain themselves: “What was going through my head at that very moment is: Ginny Lemon is an amazing icon, and the rest of the world has to deal with it!”

Back on the main stage, RuPaul whittled the final four down to the top three, cutting Diamond from the lineup before Boulash, Chaney, and Tayce lip-synced for the crown to Elton John’s “I’m Still Standing,” which led to Chaney’s crowning in the episode’s final moments and wins the show.
