Today we’re announcing that Facebook Gaming has launched a number of cloud-streamed games on the Facebook app and browser – instantly playable without any downloads. We recently had 200,000 people playing our cloud-streamed games per week in limited areas, so while it’s not really a secret, I’m excited to build what we’re building.
Cloud game-streaming promises to provide unprecedented access to games on every screen. And while we’re thrilled to have a role in that future, that future is the way to go. So before we talk about our aspirations, let me start with what we are not doing. Cloud gaming announcements are prone to hype, so I’m going, to be frank from the start.
Cloud Games are native Android and Windows games hosted and streamed by Facebook. They are instantly playable on mobile and the web, with no download required.
Cloud gaming expands the way people play and connect on the Facebook gaming platform, providing access to more games and bringing people closer to the gaming communities they enjoy.

Facebook’s cloud gaming service is similar to other popular online cloud gaming services that play video games on the company’s remote servers and stream them to user-owned devices. However, all video games will be free-to-play and won’t require an interface like Microsoft’s xCloud or Google’s Stadia.
All gaming titles can be accessed in the same way as accessing any game available on Facebook from the Gaming tab or News Feed. This means that users will not need any additional hardware or controller to play these games. The gaming service will be available to users on the web version of Facebook and even on an Android-based mobile app.

Facebook Cloud Gaming is currently offering several free-to-play titles including popular video games such as Asphalt 9: Legends, Mobile Legends: Adventure, Solitaire: Arthur’s Tale, PGA Tour Gold Shootout, Dirt Bike Unchained, and WWE SuperCard.
However, Facebook has confirmed that the gaming library will continue to expand and that many more games will be added over the next few weeks. It was also revealed that the list of cloud-streamed games would be available alongside the company’s existing library of HTML5-based video games.
