Jenna Jameson has been hospitalized with an illness that affects the nervous system. “[Jameson] was not able to walk and had severe pain in her lower back and legs,” a representative for the star told The Blast on Thursday (July 26). “She was brought into the hospital and is now being treated.”
On Wednesday night, Jenna shared a photo of herself in the hospital on Instagram, which she has since deleted. “Spent night in ER,” she wrote in the post.”Not sleeping. Can’t walk.. See u soon DC …”
The idol ― who is also a mom to three children ― announced her diagnosis with Guillain-Barré syndrome earlier this month. “Guillain-Barré Syndrome hit me hard,” she wrote on Instagram. “Have 4 weeks to get back up on my feet.”

The Blast described Guillain-Barré as a rare disorder that causes severe muscle weakness and can progress to paralysis. Here’s more on the illness:
The disorder causes a person’s immune system to attack their nerves, which disrupts communication with muscles and other parts of the body. People who suffer from Guillain-Barré syndrome may first notice symptoms like weakness, tingling sensations or pain in the legs. In severe cases, the disorder could lead to paralysis and other problems. Guillain-Barré can last for a few weeks or several months. While it’s not always possible to pinpoint an exact cause of the syndrome, experts believe it might be triggered by a bacterial or viral infection like a respiratory illness or food poisoning. Guillain-Barré syndrome is also sometimes associated with vaccines, surgery and pregnancies.

According to the Mayo Clinic website, “the disorder can lead to life-threatening complications” if someone’s chest muscles become too weak for them to breathe properly. It adds that it’s possible for people who have Guillain-Barré syndrome recover completely. “However, some people experience lasting effects from this disorder—especially if they don’t receive appropriate care.”
Her reps have not stated what stage she has been diagnosed with.
