Things take a turn in episode 2 when Katarina is coaxed into playing the role of an evil stepsister in a school play, the play is based on that world’s version of Cinderella’s story. Katarina has been brought in as a replacement while others have spent weeks rehearsing for their respective lines. She writes her lines on a cue card as she panics and glues the card on a fan that she will use as a prop. As she steps onto the stage, the card comes off. Sophia replaces Katarina and takes the play in a new direction also she is the writer and director of the project.

Gerald is playing the prince, and Nicol starts fighting each other with their swords. Eventually, it falls on Katarina to save the day. Katarina gets abducted later that night and the episode ends. In episode 3, Katarina’s family and her suitors will likely begin searching for her.
