The Osamake anime series is based on author Shuuichi Nimaru’s and illustrator Ui Shigure’s Osananajimi ga Zettai ni Makenai Love Comedy light novel series. The book series began in June 2019 and ended on June 10, 2021, with Osamake Volume 8.

While the light novels provided a clearer picture of the characters’ thoughts, the Osamake manga did a better job of explaining the motivations. Season 1 of OsaMake was directed by Takashi Naoya (‘3D Kanojo: Real Girl’) and produced by Studio Doga Kobo, which was previously responsible for “New Game!” Yoriko Tomita wrote the screenplay, and Naoya contributed to the character design.

Kadokawa revealed in May 2021 that by 2023, they planned to produce at least 40 anime projects per year, up from 33 titles in the previous year. Many of these projects will be Kadokawa’s newer light novel and manga series, but there’s a chance that more sequels will be revived as well.
