Firstly, Queen of the South is an American crime drama television series developed by M.A. Fortin and Joshua John Miller.
Secondly, The series airs on the USA Network cable channel and the story follows Teresa Mendoza (Braga), a poor woman from Mexico on the run from a powerful drug cartel, who seeks refuge in the United States.
And soon opens her own drug trafficking cartel.
Thirdly, The series premiered on June 23, 2016, and is currently adopted from the novel La Reina del Sur by Spanish author Arturo Pérez-Reverte.
With 5 seasons currently, it had the fifth season renewed on August 29, 2019.
However, the production of the current season was paused indefinitely on March 14, 2020, due to COVID-19, but resumed in fall 2020.
On March 8, 2021, it was announced that the fifth season premiered and will serve as the series’ final season.
In August 2019 a teaser trailer for the fifth season was revealed, and it is available to watch on YouTube.
