The consort has bore twins to the crown prince. Considered an ominous sign, a plan is made to kill the female child, Dam-I. In order to save her life, she is sent to live away from the palace. Her brother, however, Lee Hwi dies in an accident, and in order to hide his death, the girl is recalled into the palace to now live under the identity of her now-deceased brother. She is taught how to live like a royal by her teacher, Jung Ji Woon whom she slowly starts developing feelings. But as she is told to keep everything about her a secret, how will she keep her feelings for her first love a secret?
This Korean drama has been adapted from the Korean manhwa ‘Yeonmo’ written by Lee So Young. The premiere was aired on KBS2 on the 11th of October’21, the show is set to release over 20 episodes.

The episode builds on the initial plot of the show with the current crown princess mourning the death of her son. Dam-I, is asked to take her brother’s place as the prince which upsets her as the life of a royal is dull and boring compared to the life she is currently living. She also witnesses the death of one of her dear court maids as Ji Woon’s father kills her without knowing that Dami-I saw everything.
The tears don’t end there as Dam-I sees her mother on her death bed. The Crown Princess in her final words asks her husband to take care of her child, the death signifies the birth of the Crown Prince Lee Hwi who will be played by the daughter Dam-I.
We then fast forward ten years as we see Dam-I playing the role of an arrogant young prince. Her uncle berates her by stating that he, who is actually she, possesses all these qualities because of the family he is born in. He also manages to see the prince’s hair untied which makes him look like a girl. Afraid of getting caught, she runs into the trees where she is unexpectedly reunited with her first love, Ji Woon.
