Episode 7 marks the introduction of Gugu. He and his brothers are orphans who work as laborers. They plan to save money for a better future but the brother runs away with all the money early in the episode. Gugu has a crush on Rean. When he finds out about her missing dog, she gives him a ring to sell. Before he can do that, a wooden log is seen falling towards the girl. However, Gugu rescues her, coming in the way. Gugu survives but his face is deformed.

The young boy is taken care of by Pioran’s lover. Gugu keeps wearing a mask to hide his deformity; he later befriends Fushi and comes to see him as a brother. Things take a turn when Rean visits the shop but fails to recognize Gugu. Instead, she seems to like Fushi.
