Venom: Let There Be Carnage Ending Explained: Will It Connect With Spiderman

The Marvel franchise, famous for its post-credit scenes, has done it again. Having not only their die-hard but also casual fans sitting through the entire credits just to get a 30-second snippet of what to expect in this ever-expanding Universe, ‘Let there be Carnage’ has certainly been of the most exciting post-credit scenes we have been given in a while.

Venom’s ‘Let There be Carnage’ finally hit theatres on the 14th of October and with the movie itself receiving a mixed reaction, fans have been dying over the ending and the post-credits scene which finally confirmed it. Venom is now part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The movie, directed by Andy Serkis, continues with its 2018 predecessor as Eddie Brock is preparing to interview serial killer, Cletus Kasady. Without going into much detail about the plot of the movie, what makes this movie an important step for the MCU is the addition of another strong personality in Venom and also acquiring Tom Hardy as part of the cast for future endeavors.

Brock and Venom are seen in a hotel room where the TV is playing. J.Jonah Jameson’s voice is heard revealing the identity of Spider-Man, Peter Parker.

Why was this scene so special? Apart from the obvious, in the scene itself, Venom seems to recognize Peter Parker calling him, “This Guy”, while Eddie still remains oblivious to his identity.

Right before this scene, Venom tells Eddie about the vastness of the universe giving us an impression that Venom might have information that we have not been told about. Could this be a reference to Spider-Man 3 where venom was introduced in Tobey Maguire’s version of Spider-Man? With the thousands of fan theories of Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire’s universe colliding with the current series in the new movie, ‘No Way Home’, it might not be completely delusional to create possible connections of such manners

Andy Serkis in an interview with ComicBook.com stated that the universes will definitely collide and they want it to be done in such a way where things can still be left open, leaving the platform completely open to the fans to create their own versions of “What If?”.

What does this mean for the future of Venom? Will we see him in the Spider-Man franchise? There is much to be seen and with the new Spider-Man movie on its way in December, will our questions be answered?
