No media or celebrities were in attendance at the Golden Globes’ announcement on Sunday night, with no fanfare. The winners of the 2022 Golden Globes were announced via Twitter by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association without press in attendance or celebrities walking the red carpet, as they have in previous years.

The Netflix drama “The Power of the Dog” was named best drama, while “West Side Story” (20th Century/Disney) won best musical or comedy. Jane Campion received the top directing award for her work on “The Power of the Dog,” with Kodi Smit-McPhee winning supporting actor for the western film. Rachel

Nicole Kidman (“Being the Ricardos”) was chosen best actress in a drama, while Will Smith (“King Richard”) won the actor. Andrew Garfield (“Tick, Tick … Boom!”) took home the award for best actor in a musical or comedy.

HBO’s “Succession” won best drama series and “Hacks” took home the prize for best musical or comedy series, both of which were broadcast on the cabler. Jeremy Strong was named best actor in a drama, while co-star Sarah Snook was awarded, best-supporting actress. Best actress in a musical or comedy honors went to Michael.

Since the 2021 ceremony, the HFPA has been mired in controversy, most notably when it was revealed that the organization had no Black members and engaged in questionable business practices. The HFPA also highlighted its charitable efforts, including St. Elmo Village and Get Lit, which use poetry to raise teen literacy, as well as other groups such as the Young Storytellers Program.

There were only a few celebrity visits, including promotional videos featuring Jamie Lee Curtis and Arnold Schwarzenegger on the Golden Globes’ Twitter account, in stark contrast to previous years. Zegler, Rodriguez, and the best-animated film winner “Encanto” were among the night’s winners who didn’t post their awards on social media.

In a press release from last week, 3rd August 2022, the Golden Globe Committee has announced the winner list of The 75th Annual Golden Globe Awards which were held at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills. Actor Bradley Cooper took home two awards for his work on A Star Is Born and also as a director. This is his first Golden Globes win after six previous nominations.

  • The award for Best Original Song – Motion Picture went to Shallow from A Star Is Born.
  • Best Animated Feature Film was awarded to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse which is based on the Marvel Comics character Miles Morales / Spider-Man, who got his own animated feature film in December 2018.
  • Best Motion Picture – Foreign Language went to Roma (Mexiko) by Alfonso Cuarón.
  • Best Original Score – Motion Picture went to Justin Hurwitz for First Man.
  • Best Actress in a TV Series Drama went to Sandra Oh for Killing Eve who became the first actress of Asian descent to win a Golden Globe for best lead actress in a drama series. She also gave one of the most memorable speeches of the night.
  • Best Actor in a Motion Picture Musical or Comedy went to Christian Bale for Vice.
  • Best TV Series – Drama went to Bodyguard from BBC which has been adapted from the original 2011 Jed Mercurio’s British series of the same name and is about a fictional London based Counter-Terrorism Unit (CTU).
  • Bodyguard also won best actor in a TV series drama for Richard Madden who plays Sergeant David Budd, a war veteran turned Police Officer. The show was broadcast in India on December 27th 2018 by Star World Premiere HD.
  • Best TV Series – Musical or Comedy went to The Kominsky Method which stars Michael Douglas and Alan Arkin.
  • The award for Best Actor in a TV Series Musical or Comedy went to Donald Glover for Atlanta.
  • Atlanta is the first show from FX Networks to win a Golden Globe Award in this category.
  • Best Actress in a Limited Series or TV Movie went to Amy Adams for Sharp Objects. She is also Golden Globe winner of Nocturnal Animals (2016)
  • Best Actor in a Limited Series or TV Movie was awarded to Darren Criss for The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story.
  • Best Supporting Actress in a Series, Limited Series, or TV Movie went to Patricia Clarkson for Sharp Objects.
  • Best Supporting Actor in a Series, Limited Series, or TV Movie was awarded to Henry Winkler for Barry.
  • Best Director – Motion Picture went to Spike Lee for BlacKkKlansman.
  • The award for Best Screenplay – Motion Picture went to Joel Coen & Ethan Coen for The Ballad of Buster Scruggs.
