Here’s Why The Bring It On Musical Tour Has Been Cancelled

The musical ‘Bring It On has been canceled on the eve of its opening night after the lead actress, Bojana Novakovic, was injured during rehearsals.

The company behind the show released a statement referring to Novakovic’s “unexpected injury” and said it would not be rescheduled. The production had been due to open on Wednesday at the Theatre Royal in Plymouth.

The show’s producer, Stewart Matthew Price, said: “Bojana Novakovic suffered an unexpected injury during day one of the rehearsals for Bring It On. Following medical advice and consultation with her doctors, it has been decided that she cannot perform in the production.” — (c) The Guardian by Patrick Freyne.

The musical ‘Bring It On has resumed its tour after a brief hiatus due to lead actress Bojana Novakovic being injured during rehearsals. The show will now pause at Theatre Royal in Plymouth until March 22nd as previously scheduled, before resuming its tour in Bristol from March 28th. Bojana Novakovic has been forced to drop out of her role as Campbell due to a back injury sustained during rehearsals and will be replaced by understudy Sofia Boutella for the Plymouth dates.

The show’s producer spoke to The Stage about the situation, saying: “Bojana Novakovic suffered an unexpected injury during day one of the rehearsals for Bring It On. Following medical advice and consultation with her doctors, it has been decided that she cannot perform in the production.”
