Despite this, the singer remarked that physical issues had hindered his ability to perform. He wrote on Facebook in November that he’d undergone four back operations and would be returning to the studio in 2016.

Back operations are extremely painful. I was still attempting to perform shows before the back operations, which is when you witnessed or heard of me collapsing on stage and finally stopping my tour in the United Kingdom because of back discomfort. Because of my back problems, I couldn’t reach high notes.

Back pain isn’t anything to be concerned about. Pain that would make you faint, “he wrote.

Meat Loaf suffered a health scare in 2016 when he collapsed during a performance in the Canadian city of Edmonton and was taken to the hospital. Dehydration was cited as the reason, according to his representative at the time.
