ABC and the producers of “America’s Funniest Home Videos” (AFV) will honor one of AFV’s biggest fans – comedian, actor and TV personality Bob Saget – with a special tribute at 8:00 p.m. ET on WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 28 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET). Saget, who hosted “America’s Funniest Home Videos” from 1989 to 1997, will be saluted with the traditional “AFV Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony” in a special tribute at the end of an all-new episode.
Saget currently stars as Danny Tanner in the ABC comedy “Fuller House” and can be heard as the voice of “Sparky” on Disney Junior’s animated series, “Sofia The First.” He is also the host of “America’s Funniest Home Videos: Greatest Hits” on AFV.

Born December 17, 1956, Saget grew up in Philadelphia. He started his career as a stand-up comedian and actor before joining the cast of “The Morning Program” in 1987. In 1989, he became host of ABC’s hit family comedy “America’s Funniest Home Videos,” where he spent seven years making viewers laugh each week by showcasing the wild world of home videos. He went on to star in “Full House” from 1987 to 1995, appearing as Danny Tanner, the widowed father of three young daughters living with his brother-in-law Jesse and friend Joey. Saget also appeared in numerous films including “For Richer or Poorer,” “Dumb and Dumber,” “Big Daddy,” “Cradle Will Rock” and “A Lite Sleeper.” His memoir, called “Dirty Daddy,” will be released in June.
“It was an honor to host America’s Funniest Home Videos for so many years, so I am really excited to see the show again and celebrate with the AFV family,” said Bob Saget. “I love that it still brings families together to enjoy funny moments that they may have otherwise missed – and hope they will continue to do so for many years to come.”
A top-rated television personality and an accomplished actor, Saget also hit the airwaves in 2012 with his uncensored podcast “The Dirty Daddy.” A no-holds barred version of the popular radio show, “The Bob Saget Show” on Sirius XM, the podcast has become one of iTunes’ top comedy podcasts and quickly became known for its guest lineup including some of Hollywood’s A-list celebrities.
“Bob Saget is a true AFV fan and we’re thrilled to honor him with the illustrious ‘AFV Hall of Fame Induction,” said executive producer Michele Nasraway. “We couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate our 25th anniversary.”
Prior to joining “America’s Funniest Home Videos,” Saget was a cast member of the innovative sketch comedy program “The Morning Program” on WNEW-TV in New York City, where he honed his comedic chops.
