The show revolves around firefighters, paramedics, and rescue personnel (both their personal and professional lives), who work for the Chicago Fire Department. The death of a veteran firefighter, Andrew Darden, brought forward a fracture and divide in loyalties due to rivalry between two lieutenants, Lieutenant Matthew Casey, officer-in-charge of Truck Company 81, and Lieutenant Kelly Severide, officer-in-charge of Rescue Squad Company 3, blame each other for the death, as Andrew was their long time friend and colleague.

Episode 6 of Chicago Fire Season 10 was released on the 27th of October, 2021. Also, the episode was titled “Dead Zone”. In the beginning, Brett was sad about Casey leaving Chicago and moving to Oregon. However, she received an emergency call from work and headed towards Firehouse 51. However, things got a bit strange when the same emergency calls were also received by the other Firehouse. Later on, it was revealed that the 911 emergency call center had been hacked, and there was no one to attend to the calls of the city.
Firehouse 51 had been appointed as the main call dispatchers for the time being by the chief. Mouch and Herrmann were tasked to manage the young firefighters and taught them the old ways regarding how to handle the situation. There was also a moment when they nearly missed out on an emergency situation. But they eventually handled it. On the other hand, Brett freaked out all day after she had lost her phone earlier, during the emergency run.
Meanwhile, Kelly headed on to investigate the church case, joined by his old friend Seager. They went ahead to question father Anthony about the fire, who must have caused it. However, they were not greeted by any certain suspect when all the leads kept leading them towards dead ends. However, as things got serious when Kelly saw the suspect escape after setting father Anthony on fire, he decided to save father Anthony first. Firehouse 51, in the meantime, succeeded in managing the 911 calls for the dy. In the end, Brett managed to get her phone back and listened to Casey’s voicemail. It stated that they would make their relationship work, and he loved her.
