Based on the Korean Webtoon by Donggeon Lee, Yumi’s cells follow the life of Yumi a single working woman. Introverted and shy in her personality she is unable to express her emotions as well as she’d like to. The story revolves around her growth as a person through her work and relationships.
Having recently suffered a breakup, Yumi’s love cells have fallen into a deep coma and while the cells in her body try their best to wake them up, Yumi’s focus on her everyday work life has to prioritize these cells lesser and lesser. Things look bleak until we are introduced to Goo Woong, a videogame developer, who is similar to Yumi. We find that Woong’s own love cells are slowly reviving Yumi’s cells back to life. Will this love sparkle a complete revival for Yumi?

Episode 8 was a doozy with a deep set of misunderstandings setting the story. With the incidents that occurred between Yumi and her ex-boyfriend. Misconceptions bring new tales as the story of Yumi and Woong’s alleged possible marriage causes Sae-Yi’s feeling for Woong to become even stronger. Yumi also meets someone new who she is unable to differentiate as just a friend or potential future partner in new assistant marketing manager Yoo-Bobby. The episode ends with Yumi wanting to surprise Woong by going over to his place after telling him she was going to sleep. Upon reaching there she sees Sae-Yi inside already, a person she always viewed as a romantic threat. So seeing her inside her boyfriend’s house, she immediately suspects the worse questioning whether there is really something going on between the pair.
