Samsung senior vice president Justin Denison teased on Jan. 11 that the event would come with “a big reveal” for Samsung’s flagship line, fueling speculation about what exactly will be on display at the conference.
when asked directly by CNET whether the phone in question will be a “game-changer,” Samsung executive vice president Younghee Lee confirmed that, yes, it would be.
“One way you could interpret what I just said is yes,” she says, adding that the phone will have “a sleek design and a big screen.” She cited as examples of such a phone the recently unveiled Galaxy S10 5G, which is physically bigger than the 4G model and has two additional cameras to boot.
Samsung executive vice president Younghee Lee didn’t mention what’s coming during Unpacked — whether it would be a foldable device or a new implementation of Samsung’s “Infinity-O” display.
Previous rumors suggest that the S22 will be the first Samsung phone with a triple-camera system, and some reports say it’ll come with “more than three lenses,” lending credence to speculation that the new, larger camera array could include a telephoto lens and ultra-wide-angle shooter among its number of lenses.
Samsung senior vice president Patrick Chomet told CNET in an earlier conversation that the Galaxy line is “one of biggest and most important” for Samsung, so naturally, anything new unveiled at Unpacked will be a top priority for the company.
Samsung has sent out invites to Unpacked 2020 at MWC(Mobile World Congress) via email which reads “We will Unpack more than 5G”
